Since his college days, philanthropy has been important to Eric Hymowitz. He has a personal connection to pancreatic cancer - his cousin passed from the disease. Today, Eric Hymowitz supports the work of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). As Mr. Hymowitz said in a briefing reported by ReleaseWire, "My hope is, by donating, I can contribute to the resources that will help with research that finds a cure.” PanCAN focuses on both patient care and research, helping people currently battling the disease while also searching for a cure. Since its founding in 1999, PanCAN’s efforts have helped increase the level of attention to pancreatic cancer in the scientific community. The organization has awarded 167 grants to scientists since 2003. A small donation in this area can have an outsized effect - for every $1 of PanCAN grant funding, researchers have received an average of $11.01 in additional funding from other sources. An experienced homebuilder in Houston, Texas, Eric Hymowitz has served as the president of ROC Homes since 2002, offering a diverse range of housing designs to clients across the region. Eric Hymowitz maintains affiliations with professional organizations such as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
With more than 140,000 members in over 700 local and state groups, NAHB continues decades of leadership in the housing industry, promoting access to quality affordable homes for all. The association also offers numerous educational courses and events, such as its International Builders' Show (IBS), each year. Those who missed the most recent IBS can purchase particular sessions from the event on the NAHB website as audio or video downloads. Available sessions include Selling to the Next Generations: Current Patterns, Behaviors, & Preferences of Gen Z & Millennials; A Designer's Residence Inside & Out: What Makes the Cut; and The Latest Innovations & Trends in Smart Home Products. Other sessions cover topics ranging from using SketchUp to sales management essentials. The 2020 IBS will take place January 21-23 in Las Vegas. |
